Project background

A livestock operation sought a daily fodder production system to supplement traditional feed during dry seasons. The unit had to deliver consistent output in tough on-farm conditions with minimal staff attention.

Challenge

Maintaining the tight temperature and humidity window required for fodder germination inside an uninsulated shed environment. Preventing mold, ensuring even irrigation, and moving trays through a multi-day cycle without manual handling.

Approach & solution

We developed an insulated grow chamber with staged misting, airflow, and light cycles driven by a single controller. Trays advanced through the chamber on a scheduled conveyor system, with each day's harvest emerging at the output end. Sensors validated conditions continuously and triggered alerts on deviation.

Results & benefits

The client achieved consistent daily fodder output on a reliable schedule, reducing dependency on imported feed during dry months. The staged design meant a steady supply — not boom-and-bust batches — which simplified feed planning for the herd.
