Project background

Battery energy storage systems require close monitoring for safety and performance. The client wanted a monitoring layer sitting alongside the BMS, providing analytics and alerting across their fleet.

Challenge

Integrating with different BMS vendors, analyzing SOH trends meaningfully, and generating safety alerts that weren't drowned out by routine noise.

Approach & solution

We built vendor-agnostic telemetry ingestion, SOC/SOH trend analytics, and a tiered alerting system. Thermal anomalies trigger immediate operator attention; slower drifts accumulate into scheduled actions. Safety alerts bypass normal routing to ensure visibility.

Results & benefits

Operators now manage their BESS fleet with fleet-wide visibility rather than one-system-at-a-time. Several thermal precursors were flagged early, preventing what could have been significant events.
